great Pilgrim center which draws a stream of pilgrims from
north, south, east and west to its shrine of Venkateswara.
In the foothills of Tirumala, is the location of one of
the most venerated shrines in India, that of Lord
Venkateswara at Tirumala. One of the oldest temples in the
country, it was patronized by Pallavas, Cholas, Pandyas
and the Vijayanagra Kings. It is one of the important
pilgrim centers in India.
