This safari explores two exotic wildlife
sanctuaries, each is special and different from one another in terrain
as well as wildlife. While Kaziranga is flat with elephant grass and
shallow swamps interspersed with large patches of semi-evergreen forest,
habitat to one - horned Rhinoceros and wild buffalo. And Namdapha 1807
sq km. rise from 200 Mt. to 4500 Mt. above sea level and the forest
ranges from wet evergreen forest at the lower levels through mix
deciduous forest temperate alpine forest at the upper reaches, as the
terrain varies from low to high, similarly the range of wildlife is
diverse. It is the only area with three major predators: The Tiger, The
Leopard and The Clouded Leopard. Possibly even snow leopard.

DAY
01. ARRIVE
DELHI
Morning arrive Delhi and transfer to hotel. Afternoon combined
guided tour of Old and
New Delhi includes Jammia Masjid Mosque, Cycle rickshaw
ride through Chandni chowk, Red Fort, drive through India Gate
and Parliament house. And finally explore Qutab Minar and
Humayuns Tomb.

02. DELHI
– GUWAHATI
Transfer to airport in time to catch Guwahati flight. Arrive
and transfer to hotel for overnight stay. Guwahati is the
gateway to north east situated on the banks of river
Brahmaputra. In the afternoon orientation tour of the city.

03. GUWAHATI
-KAZIRANGA Drive

After break fast depart and drive to Kaziranga
Wildlife Sanctuary.
The road from Guwahati runs through forest cover hills,
villages and low – lying fields with stands of coconut palm
before the road begins to rise quite sharply as it approaches
the Kaziranga National Park. In 1926, Kaziranga became a game
sanctuary and in 1974 it was declared a national park. It is
justly famous, but not only for Rhino, but also for
wild buffalo, magnificent Swamp Deer and Hog Deer, tiger, wild
Boar, Hoolock Gibbol, Capped Langur and Rattle (Hog Badger)
are among the other animal seen. Arrive Kaziranga and check in
at hotel for three nights.

04 & 05. IN
KAZIRANGA
Two
full days for various game drives by jeeps and elephant rides
for exciting safaris through the tall swamp grasslands of
Kaziranga. A slow plod through the primeval grasses reveals
flocks of grey parrots and mina birds wheeling above, pelicans
perched in trees, watchful eagles and numerous cattle egrets.
But it is the famous white one - horned rhino that
abound here. These are the very same species that Marco Polo
strangely mistook for the mythical unicom. In fact, they can
be very unsociable creatures with foul tempers, and they are
very near sighted.

06. KAZIRANGA
– DIBRUGARH Drive

Morning depart and drive to Dibrugarh via various villages and
towns including Jorhat, the gateway to Upper Assam with number
of small Lodges and restaurants and Sibasagar, an ancient
capital of Ahom dynasty which ruled Assam for over 600 years.
Its and important
center for Tea and Oil industry, its main attraction is a huge
Tank (artificial lake) created in 1734 and next to the tank
stand three temples, including Shiv Mandir believed to be
tallest Shiv temple (33 Mt.) in India. About 6 km. west of the
town ae ruins of 7 storey 18th century Talatal Ghar
Palace and 2 storey Ranghar.

another 18th century Ahom Palace is situated about
13 km east of Sibasagar. Arrive Dibrugarh and Check-in at
Guesthou town in Upper
Assam. This is the place where the mighty river Brahmaputra is
at its majestic best.

7. DIBRUGARH
– MIAO Drive 155
Km
After breakfast depart and drive to Miao, sub divisional head
quarter, situated on the plains of Changlag district. Arrive
Miao and Check in at Tourist circuit house. The main
attractions are Mini Zoo, Tibetan Refuge settlement and there
colorful carpet weaving.

08. MIAO -
DEBAN Drive 35 Km
After breakfast depart and drive to Deban the entry point for
Namdapha wildlife sanctuary. Arrive and check in at tourist
circuit house / camp for three nights. Rest of the day at
leisure for personal exploration.

09 & 10. IN
DEBAN (Namdapha) Two
full days for jungle nature walk.
Namdapha National park was established in 1972. This park and
tiger reserve has perhaps the widest diversity of habitats of
any South Asia's protected areas. It is the only area with
three major predators: the tiger, leopard and clouded leopard.
The snow leopard is a possible fourth. The park' 698 sq miles
rise from 4500 m above mean sea level and the forest ranges
from wet ever-green forest at the lower levels through mixed
deciduous forest temperature alpine forest at the upper
reaches. Three major rivers drain the area and run into the
Noa-Dehing river and then the Brahmaputra. The diverse
habitats and local climates hold a fascinating mix of
Indo-Burmese, Indo-Chinese and Himalayan wildlife. The mammals
include gaur, goral, takin, musk deer, hoolock gibbon, slow
loris, binturong and red panda, apart from the major
predators. Hornbills and pheasants are among the great range
of birds.

11. DEBAN
–TINSUKHIA Drive 125
Km
Morning
at leisure for personal exploration. After lunch depart and
drive to Tinsukia. Arrive and check in at Guest house for
overnight.
Tinsukia
is an industrial district, yet it produces a sizeable amount
of Tea,Oranges,Ginger, Citrus fruits and Paddy. Majority of
its population are cultivators and agricultural workers.The
Oldest oil refinery in India is situated at Digboi in this
District. Margherita and Ledo is famous for open cast coal
mining.

12. TINSUKHIA
– DIBRUGARH Drive

Depart
and drive to Dibrugarh airport in time to catch Delhi bound
flight. Arrive Delhi and transfer to hotel for overnight stay.
Rest of the day at leisure.
