North
East, land of majestic mountains, dense forests and gushing streams
is vast expense of beauty and variety. First two days are spent in
Kohima the capital of Nagaland situated east of Assam in the Naga hills,
to intermingle with various tribes who speak their own dialects, explore
zoological park and a soft trek through Dzulou valley. From here we move
to Jorhat in Assam known as land of blue hills and red rivers
famous for exotic wildlife and tea estates. Return ferry trip of
Majuli river island to visit Satras monastery and drive to a tea
estate to explore tea gardens. Now another ferry to cross over to other
side of river Brahmaputra to spend a night in north Lakimpur (noth of
Assam). Now we drive into Arunachal Pradesh which remained out of
bound for outsiders, its inhabitants belong to Mongoloid and
Tibeto - Burmese tribes, the flora and fauna are incredible of rich
variety. After exploring tribal villages and tribes including Apatani
and Nishing, we drive to Itanagar the capital of Arunachal Pradesh
for an overnight stay and re-enter Assam at Tezpur, a short drive
from here will take us to famous Kaziranga wildlife park where we
will try to sight some rare species including one horned rehinos,
wild buffalo, swap and hog deer. This exotic journey concludes with a
night in Guwahati the capital of Assam, from here fly back to calcutta
for onward journey.
