This itinerary covers the exotic Arunachal Pradesh which had been
forbidden to foreigners for years and just few years back some areas
have been thrown open for group tourism. We will be traveling up
to Tawang which resembles the Lhasa in Tibet and encounter some
exotic tribes. Beside we will visit one of the best wildlife parks "the
Kaziranga" habitate of rare one horned rhino in Assam.

DAY
01.
ARRIVE DELHI
Morning
arrive Delhi and transfer to hotel. Afternoon combined guided tour of Old
and New Delhi includes Jammia Masjid Mosque, Cycle rickshaw ride
through Chandni chowk, Red Fort, drive through India Gate and Parliament
house. And finally explore Qutab Minar and Humayuns Tomb.

02.
DELHI – GUWAHATI
Fly
Transfer
to airport in time to catch Guwahati flight. Arrive and transfer to
hotel for overnight stay. Guwahati is the gateway to north east situated
on the banks of river Brahmaputra. In the afternoon orientation tour of
the city.

03.
GUWAHATI – TEZPUR
Drive 190 Km
After
breakfast depart and drive to Tezpur. Arrive Tezpur and check in at hotel for overnight. Afternoon
visit Agnigarh.
Tezpur
situated on the north bank of the Brahmaputra River northeast of
Guwahati is the site of Assam’s first tea plantations and the retains
a colonial atmosphere.

04.
TEZPUR – BOMDILA
Drive 160 Km
Morning
depart and drive to Bomdila the headquarter of West Kameng district
through tropical forest and then through alpine region from the Tanga
river onwards. From Bomdila we get spectacular views of the snow-capped
mountains. Arrive and check in at hotel for overnight. Late afternoon
explore craft center, Buddhist gampas and the local market.

05.
BOMDILA – TAWANG
Drive 189 Km
After
early breakfast we will drive to Tawang the district headquarter of
Tawang district and cross the famous Sela Pass at 4267 Mt. Arrive Tawang
approximately in 8 hours and check in at hotel for three nights. Moored
high up in the mountain ranges of the Himalayas, at 3500 Mt. above sea
level Tawang is the beautiful land of the Monpas. This land evokes
images of awesome mountain views, remote hamlets, quaint and sleepy
villages, magical gompas and many more.

06.
IN TAWANG
Full
day to explore the city. Visit famous Tawang
monastery,
one of the largest monastery in India, situated at an altitude of 3000
Mt. Built in the 17th century with 65 residential building
around the main temple structure, houses over 500 lams, which is more
than 350 years old. The monastery controls 17 Gompas in the region and
is the fountainhead of spiritual life of the Gelugpa sect of the
Mahayana School of Buddhism. Brama

Gompa
monastery of Nuns, the oldest of the Ani gompa, it was commissioned by
Lama Karchen Yeshi Gelek in 1595 and houses 45 nuns. Urgelling
Monastery established
by the Lama Urgen Sangpo who came to this area from Bhumthang in Bhutan.
Dating more than 460 years, the monastery is the birthplace of the 6th
Dalai Lama. Apart from being a treasure trove of many ancient relics,
the monastery has the footprints and fingerprints of the Dalai Lama
preserved for darshan.

07.
IN TAWANG
After
breakfast visit Taktsang Lake and have picnic lunch in the scenic
surroundings. Afternoon
visit Monpa village and stone laid by the sixth Dalal Lama.

TAWANG – BOMDILA
Drive 189 Km
Morning
depart and drive to Bomdila. Arrive
and check in at hotel for overnight.
DAY
09.
BOMDILA – TEZPUR Drive 165 Km
TEZPUR –
KAZIRANGA Drive 40 Km
After an early
breakfast we will drive back to Tezpur.
Arrive Tezpur by lunchtime. After lunch we will continue our
journey to Kaziranga. Arrive
and check in at hotel for overnight.
Kaziranga was declared
a game reserve in 1926, to save the Indian One-horned rhino, which had
become threatened with extinction at the turn of the century.
The present rhino population is over 1100 and you can easily see
them in the marshes and grasslands. We can also seen wild buffalo,
sambar, swamp, deer, hog deer, wild pig, hoolock, gibbon, elephant,
pythons and tiger, the only predator of the docile rhino.
There is a rich variety of shallow-water fowl including egrets,
pond herons, river terns, black necked stork, fishing eagles and
adjutant storks.
