DAY
01. ARRIVE DELHI
Morning
arrive Delhi and transfer to hotel. Afternoon combined guided tour of Old
and New Delhi includes
Jammia Masjid Mosque, Cycle rickshaw ride through Chandni chowk, Red
Fort, drive through India Gate and Parliament house, Qutab Minar and
Humayuns Tomb.
DAY
02. DELHI LEH
Fly
Morning
transfer to Delhi airport in time for Leh bound flight, arrive Leh and
transfer to hotel. Rest of the day at leisure for acclimatization.
Evening stroll through the market.
DAY
03. IN LEH
Morning
a short drive to riverside near Spituk village and board rafts for to
drift down the river Indus to Nimu.
As soon we board our rafts, instructions are given on rafting
techniques and safety. Any previous
experience is not required, any one who knows swimming can enjoy this
thrilling spot irrespective of age
however safety
belts are provided to be more safe. Halfway between the trip, we stop
on a beach for picnic. The river flows through a narrow gorge and the
rapids we encounter are up to grade III. We stop at Nimu, just after
the confluence of River Zanskar and Indus. From here drive to Saspol
and then on to Alchi Monastery. Evening return to Leh. Overnight at
hotel.

DAY
04. LEH HUNDER
Drive 125 Km
After
an early breakfast leave for Nubra valley. From Leh the road gradually
climbs Khardugla Pass (5602 M.), believed to be second highest
motorable pass in the World, commands fantastic view of Stok Kangri
and surrounding peaks. From
the pass descend down to Khardang and khalsar villages, continue the
journey along the river Shayok to
Hunder (3048 Mt.) (last point a tourist can visit),
about ten Km. beyond Diskit, the district head quarter.
Overnight camp.

05.
HUNDER DISKIT
Camel Safari
After
breakfast, we explore local monastery, commence the trek on Bactrian
double hump camels along which runs through sandy desert and dunes up
to Diskit, this is run of 2 to 3 hours. After lunch explore the
village, market and the Diskit monastery situated on small on a rock
above the town and commanding panoramic view of Nubra valley. Nubra
falls on ancient trade route between Ladakh and central Asia, and the
mode of transport used these Bactrian double hum camels and yaks.
Overnight camp / guest house.
DAY
06. DISKIT TEGGER
Drive
TEGGER PINCHMIC
Camel safari 2 Hrs.
After
a leisurely breakfast drive a short distance to Tegger village (3146
Mt.), explore here Samstanling monastery and village. After lunch a
short camel trek along the river through the widest part of valley to
Pinchmic. Overnight camp / guest house.
DAY
07. PINCHIMIC PANAMIK
Camel Safari 1-2
Hrs.
After
leisurely breakfast commence the final stretch of this camel trek to
Panamik which would be covered between 1-2 hours. On the way we will
visit a pond (small lake) high above the road, sandwiched between two
hills which form a bowl like space for this pond.
Panamik was a major halting point for caravans of traders
between central Asia and Ladakh after / before crossing the Karakoram
range. Arrive and camp / gust house for overnight. Rest of the day to
explore the village, Hot Springs and relax.
DAY
08. PANAMIK INSA
PANAMIK LEH
Drive 150 Km.
After
breakfast drive a short distance to the bridge connecting Panamic with
Insa, walk up and visit Insa monastery clinging on a mountain cliff,
surrounded by some trees. Drive back to Panamic and trace the route back
to Leh. Arrive Leh and check in at hotel.
DAY
09. LEH - TSO MORIRI
Drive 223. 10 Hrs. (Prox.)
Leave
after an early breakfast, take the Leh - Manali highway until Upshi,
from here continue along Indus
river, as it snakes its way through gorge between the Ladakh and Zanskar
range, to the Village of Chumathang, where there is a hot sulphur
spring. About 17 km further at Mahe, the road crosses from north to
south bank of the river by a bridge, it then follows Puga stream up to
Sumdo, Puga village (Tibetan
refuge settlement) and a small pass called Namshangla. Continuing
drive to Korzok, situated at 4,572 Mt. with its dozen or so houses and
its gompa appearing like a mirage among the barren hills, is the only
permanent settlement in Rupshu; otherwise the region is inhabited only
by nomadic Changpa herdspeople. We camp for two nights.
DAY
10. IN TSO MORARI
Full
day to explore the Tso Morari lake and Korzok monastery. The
wildlife population commonly spotted in Rupshu are Kyang (wild Ass) and Marmots. The bird life found on the
Tso Morari lake is the bareheaded
goose, the great crusted grebe, the Brahamini duck (ruddy sheldrake) and
the brown headed gull.
DAY
11. TSOMORARI
TSOKAR
Drive 80 Km 3 Hrs.
After
breakfast drive down to Sumdo, then continue through Puga valley over
Polokongki-la (about 5,030 m), from here descent
into Samad Kharnak (Tso Kar), in the afternoon explore the lake and
Thokjay monastery. Overnight camp.
DAY
12. TSOKAR LEH
Drive 155 Km 6 Hrs.
After
breakfast drive to Debring,
connect here to Leh - Manali highway and ascend to Taglang La (5359
Mt.), world's second highest
motor able pass. From here descend down to villages of Rumtse, Upshi and
continue to Leh.
Note:
This circuit can be tackled in reverse order also.
DAY
13. LEH - DELHI
After
breakfast transfer to Leh airport in time to catch Delhi bound flight.
Arrive Delhi and transfer to hotel.
Rest of the day at leisure for personal exploration.
DAY
14. DEPARTURE
Transfer
to Delhi airport for onward journey.
