This
itinerary provides an opportunity to
explore a fascinating Himalayan region.
First we explore Darjeeling famous for
its tea gardens in particular. From
here we move to Sikkim where we will
interact with Buddhist population and
explore their culture and temples around
Pemyangtse and Gangtok. In addition
to Himalayan culture and landscape first
we discover Kolkata, maddening crowded
city almost at sea level with huge buildings
of British Raj with multi cultures that
includes Hindu Bengali, Bengali Christians
and Chinese migrants. This was the Indian
region where the British first stepped
in by establishing East India Company. |

DAY
01.
ARRIVE CALCUTTA
Arrive
Calcutta meet and transfer to hotel. Calcutta
is the largest metropolitan city of India, with
a population of above 10 million. In 1773, it
became the headquarters of British administration
in India till 1911, when the capital was shifted
to Delhi. Afternoon orientation tour of Calcutta
city.

02.
CALCUTTA – BAGDOGRA
Fly
BAGDOGRA - DARJEELING
Drive 90 Km 3 Hrs
Morning transfer
to airport and fly to Bagdogra and continue
by road to Darjeeling. Arrive Darjeeling and
check in at hotel.
DAY
03.
IN DARJEELING
Morning
excursion to tiger hills for fascinating view
of 8,597-meter high Kanchenjunga.
Afternoon sightseeing includes Botanical
gardens, observatory hill and Zoological park.
The
queen of hills stations, perched on a 2,130
meter high ridge, surrounded by tea plantation.
The green of the pines and ferns, the white
of the magnolias and the red of the rhododendrons
welcome the visitors to Darjeeling. The hills
soaring high on one side and the lush green
plains below are characteristic of the way to
the hill station.
DAY 04.
DARJEELING – PEMYANGTSE
Drive 75 Km 4 Hrs.
Morning
depart and drive to Pemyangtse, arrive and check
in at hotel. Situated at an altitude
of 6000 ft. above sea level, the Pemyangtse
monastery is the second oldest monastery in
Sikkim and is the headquarters of the Nyingma
sect. There seems to have been an earlier shrine
at the sight of the monastery, which dates back
to 1705. Many priceless antique idols are housed
here, and the top-most floor, the most fascinating,
contains some magnificent sculptures, very intricate
and very intriguing.

05.
PERMYANGTSE – GANGTOK
Drive 117 Km 5 Hrs.
Morning
drive to Gangtok, arrive and check in at hotel.
Afternoon explore deer park, Orchid sanctuary, Institute of Tibetology, Rumtek monastery,
etc. Remainder
of the day at leisure.

06.
IN GANGTOK
Full
day at leisure for personal exploration. With
a backdrop of the Himalayas, Sikkim offers breathtaking
vistas, colorful lifestyles, Buddhist shrines,
adventure, water sports, exquisite flora and
fauna.

GANGTOK – BAGDOGRA
Drive 141 Km
BAGDOGRA - CALCUTTA
Fly
Morning depart
and drive to Bagdogra airport, fly to Calcutta,
arrive and transfer to hotel.
