 Andhra Pradesh

Hyderabad Vijayawada Warangal Vishakhapatnam
Tirupati Nagarjunasagar Sirsailam

Andhra Pradesh is like an unexplored, endless journeys. The more you see you want to see. The state spans the greatest part of the Deccan Plateau. Andhra Pradesh is generously endowed with nature’s riches. Valleys, rivers, waterfalls greet you at different sites.

Andhra Pradesh is fifth largest state in India, bounded by Madhya Pradesh and Orissa in the north, the Bay of Bengal in the east, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka in the south and Maharashtra in the west. The northern area of Andhra Pradesh is mountainous. The highest peak Mahindra Giri raises 1500 mt. above the sea level.

The word Andhra is equally applicable to the land, the people and the language. The Andhras, originally an Aryan race, migrated to the south of the Vindhyas where they mixed with non-Aryans. In the 13th centaury, the Kakatiyas with their capital of Warrangal dominated Andhra Desa. In the 1323, the Tughlak Sultan of Delhi captured the Kakatiya ruler and ended the dynasty.

Andhra Pradesh is the first state in India that has been formed on a purely linguistic basis. When India became independent, the Andhras, that is, the Telugu speaking people, were distributed in about 21 districts, 9 of them in the Nizams dominions and 12 in the Madras presidency.
